Before and After Photo Retouching

I don’t normally do portraits. But a friend of mine helped me out with some stuff. She’s an executive coach and we did a trade. She is a Certified Presence-Based® Coach and a Myers-Briggs® Type Indicator Certified Practitioner. Be sure to visit her page Kolesar Change for more info on that!

We went out to a local park to do photos of her, her husband, and their three dogs. It was around sunset, you know, golden hour. Her dogs are fairly well trained, so I was able to get a few photos with all of them looking at the camera. But the people in the photos weren’t great. So, a little head swapping had to happen.

We followed a path and found a nice set of rocks for them to sit on. But it was pretty dark. I don’t have a flash large enough to cover all of them, so I had to shoot it a little dark knowing that I would have to fix it later. I replaced her head from a photo that I took right after this one. In that photo, the dogs were on the move. I am sharing the photos taken right before and right after, so you can see how quickly dogs move.

We eventually made our way out by the water. The sun was behind the subject and also disappearing fast. It wasn’t bright enough to do any bouncing either.

Going in to this, I knew that I would have to do some head swapping. But I thought for sure it would be one of the dogs. However, these were good puppers!
